Frank Castle, President of Castle Fine Arts, Inc., has been an active fine art dealer for more than 35 years, specializing in 18th through 20th Century Japanese prints. Frank owned and operated The Asian Collector Gallery in Hong Kong for fifteen years and established Castle Fine Arts in 1990. He is a member of the Ukiyo-e Dealers Association of Japan; the Connoisseurs’ Council of The Asian Art Museum, the Achenbach Graphic Arts Council, both in San Francisco; and a Life Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and The Explorer’s Club. Since 2005, Frank has been living in San Diego.
Frank has summited on 7 continents, including a first ascent of Mt. Bokkra (17,500 ft) in the Siguniang Range of China, made a self-portered ascent of Kilimanjaro and Mawenzi and in December 2009, climbed two peaks in Antarctica.
In late June of 2002, Frank completed his goal of ascending all 15 peaks in California over 14,000 feet. These included Mt. Whitney via the East Face, Mt. Sill via the Swiss Arete, and culminating with Mt. Williamson, the second highest of the group.

Having started in 1999, Frank continues to participate as an expert/appraiser on THE ANTIQUES ROADSHOW on PBS.
Frank was selected as an Honored Professional in the National Register’s WHO’S WHO OF EXECUTIVES & PROFESSIONALS, 2000 - 2001.
Frank hosted The Connoisseurs’ Council of The Asian Art Museum where he discussed the 19th Century landscape masters - Hokusai and Hiroshige, illustrating the talk with numerous fine examples of their work. He was also a member of a Roundtable Discussion at The Asian Art Museum entitled: Japanese Woodblock Prints: From Classical To Modern.
He has published numerous articles about collecting Japanese woodblock prints, antique maps and China Trade paintings.
With private, corporate and museum clients on five continents, Frank Castle has built a reputation as a dealer who offers knowledgeable, personalized service. He also provides appraisal services for estate and insurance purposes. Office art projects are also a specialty, with courtesy extended to the trade.
